Job Description

As a full-time firefighter at the Årjäng Rescue Service, you will work with preventive and emergency rescue work during fires, accidents, rescue operations, and other societal functions. You will also participate in training, exercises, and contribute to performing all routine tasks within the daily operations and readiness of the business and municipal group. You will have the opportunity to develop yourself both personally and professionally.

To thrive in the role of a full-time firefighter with us, you must be outgoing, which places high demands on your ability to collaborate as well as your ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.

As a person, you are self-reliant, driving, efficient, and meticulous. You have a good ability to plan and structure your work. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Regulated working hours of 40 hours per week. Overtime compensation is not paid during readiness periods. This is regulated separately. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Sunday according to a rolling three-week schedule. Nighttime readiness is included.

Probationary employment may occur.

Before an employment can become current, you must be prepared to present an extract from the criminal record register and undergo a health examination with a passing result. Other tests may also be relevant during the recruitment phase. Personality tests may be conducted if necessary. Our goal is for you to be war-placed within our organization.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a firefighter with approved part-time firefighter/rescue operation/basic training for rescue service personnel in readiness (GRIB) or alternatively approved SMO training/full-time firefighter or other training that the employer deems equivalent.

Requirements:

  • Good computer skills in the Office package, primarily Word and PowerPoint.
  • Category C driver's license is required.
  • Swimming proficiency.

Merits:

  • Several years of experience from the rescue service.
  • Experience working at a full-time station.
  • Category CE driver's license or BE/B96 driver's license.
  • Good computer skills in the rescue service's operational system Daedalos.
  • Experience working with/flammable and/or explosive goods according to LBE.
  • Rescue leader training (lowest Rescue Leader A or equivalent).
  • Completed the inspection and other accident prevention training A (and possibly B) with a passing result.
  • Instructor training for vehicles and/or rescue service equipment such as chainsaws, hydraulic tools, indication equipment, etc.
  • Experience from rescue service with special competence such as HEAVY RESCUE, CHEMICAL/DANGEROUS GOODS or something else that could contribute to developing our rescue service.
  • Local knowledge.
  • Other competence that the employer deems relevant.

Terms and Application

A complete application should contain the following documents:

  1. Certificate of completion from rescue operation/GRIB, SMO, full-time firefighter, or equivalent training deemed equivalent by the employer.
  2. Cover letter (preferably with references) and CV. Keep in mind that your CV and cover letter should be as detailed as possible to reflect your profile in relation to our wishes and requirements. Please describe your understanding of our society, as this may influence the design of a modern rescue service.
  3. Test protocol from the treadmill test 4.5 km/h at an incline of 8 degrees for six minutes (8 including warm-up), and this must have been completed within the last 6 months. Can be supplemented later and sent to [email protected]
  4. You must have a valid Category B driver's license. A copy of the driver's license must be attached.
  5. Certificate stating that you can swim at least 200 meters (not older than 12 months).

Employment Type: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent, start date: According to agreement.
